Applied Nov 2021, Interview Date Aug 24 2023.

Appt time : 7.15am

Waited across with group that was larger than expected, a solid 100 people. Reading the various reviews, we assumed there was the usual Indian mentality of rushing ahead and thought there was no need to do so as we had an appointment time. Note to those who don't like waiting, don't be ignorant like us lol, people started rushing up before the person barely mouthed the letter 'I' for immigrant on the megaphone. Knock people over if you have to. We had around 20-30 people ahead of us by the time we got to the line that had formed. I, the sponsor (US Citizen) was not allowed to accompany my Wife, some online say they did, but that might have changed, or maybe when the people are less. If you are able to stay at the Trident I highly recommend it, Sofitel is close, but Trident is literally across the road and its a very decent hotel all things considered, but the proximity cannot be ignored. Hello all,

My sister in India had a CR1 interview today at the U.S. consulate in Mumbai, India. They gave her 221g white slip and said that your file is incomplete. My sister asked the Consular Officer what documents are missing. But, the interview officer told her that they cannot comment on that and handed her the 221g white slip. The slip even doesn't say which document to submit. My sister is so stressed right now. She checked the ceac site and status says "Refused".

My question is:

1. Does Consulate email her regarding what documents she needs to submit?

2. Does the color of the 221g slip mean anything? Like white, yellow, or blue??

Please help and reply if you have any information

Thanks

The interview was short and sweet. My spouse was asked about family involvement in our marriage and wedding events as well as asked to show pictures of time spent together. My spouse had prepared an album of 20-30 pictures of our travels and time spent together, each annotated with a date and place.

The only thing we disliked was that even though the appointments are given for a specific time, anyone with an interview that day can get in line to enter the consulate regardless of what time their interview is. The lines to get in took up the bulk of time needed for the interview.
